TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts light rain will fall across parts of Jakarta this Wednesday afternoon.
The BMKG, via its Instagram account @infobmkg, stated that West Jakarta and Central Jakarta will experience thick clouds from morning to afternoon, followed by light rain in the afternoon and evening.
Similar conditions are also predicted for North Jakarta and East Jakarta, with thick clouds from morning to afternoon, followed by rain in the afternoon and evening.
South Jakarta will also experience thick clouds from morning to afternoon, followed by light rain in the afternoon. The area will again experience thick clouds in the evening.
Meanwhile, the Seribu Islands are predicted to experience thick clouds from morning to afternoon, followed by light rain in the evening.
The BMKG warns of the potential for moderate to heavy rain in North Jakarta, Central Jakarta, West Jakarta, East Jakarta, South Jakarta, and the Thousand Islands.
These conditions can lead to hydrometeorological disasters such as flooding, river overflows, and landslides, which can disrupt public activities.
The average temperature in the capital today is between 27 and 28 degrees Celsius.
