TEMPO.COJakarta - The Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) issued an update on the early warning for weather in Jabodetabek (Greater Jakarta) area on Monday morning, January 12, 2026. The update followed the rain that had fallen since the morning, even in the early hours, throughout the area.

At the time of writing this article, the rain has subsided in many areas although the sky is still heavily overcast. Apart from causing a drop in temperature, the morning rain has also led to traffic jams on many roads.

According to the BMKG, some areas need to be on alert due to the potential for heavy to very heavy rain throughout the day. These areas include North Jakarta, West Jakarta, East Jakarta, South Jakarta, and Tangerang Regency.

Other areas are advised to be cautious due to the anticipated moderate to heavy rain today. These areas include Central Jakarta, Thousand Islands, Bekasi City, Bogor City, Depok City, Tangerang City, South Tangerang City, Bogor Regency, and Bekasi Regency.

In addition to the early warning for rain, the BMKG also issued an early warning for strong winds today. It applies to almost all areas in Jabodetabek, except for South Tangerang City.

According to the BMKG, the early warning for rain in the Jabodetabek area also applies to tomorrow, Tuesday, January 13, 2026, and the day after, Wednesday, January 14, 2026. The only difference is that there is a caution for the potential of moderate to heavy rain in the next two days.
