Charley Hull has been forced to withdraw from the Evian Championship after collapsing twice during her first round at the season’s fourth major.
The 29-year-old’s management confirmed to Mail Sport that Hull had fainted and left the course on a stretcher.
In concerning scenes, the Englishwoman, who had been battling a virus, first showed signs of difficulty when she stopped and sheltered under an umbrella 11 holes into her loop.
That escalated on the next tee box – hole four on the scorecard – when Hull collapsed ahead of playing her shot and allowed the group behind to go through while she received treatment.
After then fainting a second time after her shot, a buggy was called and Hull pulled out of the tournament.

Her management say she is recovering well after the scare and was treated at the on-site medical centre.
Hull, the world No 19, was chasing her first major victory after finishing 12th finishes at both the US Women's Open and KPMG Women's PGA Championship in the past month.
