TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Group CEO of the State-Owned Enterprises Investment Management Agency (BPI) Rosan Roeslani stated that Danantara is not above the law.
This statement follows the ongoing discussion regarding regulations in Law Number 19 of 2003 concerning State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs). This law was later revised into Law Number 1 of 2025 concerning the Third Amendment to Law Number 19 of 2003 concerning State-Owned Enterprises.
In addition, President Prabowo Subianto also signed Government Regulation Number 10 of 2025 concerning the Organization and Governance of the State-Owned Enterprises Investment Management Agency (BPI).
Among the regulations, it is stipulated that the annual financial report examination of the company is carried out by a public accountant.
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP), and the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) can only inspect Danantara if requested by the House of Representatives or for specific purposes.
"Firstly, I want to convey that no one is above the law in this country. Indeed, the KPK can (inspect Danantara). Especially if there are inappropriate or criminal actions, it is very much possible. The BPK, too," said Rosan Roeslani after the launch of Danantara at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Monday, February 24, 2025.
This new institution, Rosan claims, will be managed transparently with a multi-layered oversight structure. Moreover, Danantara will oversee assets from Public Service Obligation (PSO) companies, or companies assigned by the government to provide subsidized public services.
"This news needs to be clarified. All of these entities will oversee us and actively participate in ensuring that we operate properly and correctly," he stated.
Furthermore, Rosan said his team would report directly to President Prabowo Subianto on Danantara's operations. As a result, Danantara will become one of the most closely monitored institutions, involving the entire presidential apparatus. He also pledged that there would be no conflicts of interest under his leadership.
Thus, Danantara will be the most supervised institution because it involves all the presidential apparatus. Rosan also promised that there will be no conflict of interest during his leadership of the institution.
"This is a great responsibility and God willing, if we run this properly, with careful planning, and without any conflicts of interest," he said.
