TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Well-known tech leaker Ice Universe has shared new details about Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18 Pro, which is expected to be released later this year, pointing to a redesigned front display with a significantly smaller Dynamic Island.

According to information posted by Ice Universe, the Dynamic Island on the iPhone 18 Pro will measure 13.49 millimetres in width, a notable reduction from the current design.

By comparison, the Dynamic Island on the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max is reported to be 20.76 millimetres wide, suggesting a size decrease of around 35 percent.

As cited by GSM Arena on Friday, January 23, 2026, the reported change is consistent with ongoing speculation about Apple’s facial recognition technology.

The report suggests that Apple may place Face ID components beneath the display on the iPhone 18 Pro, allowing the company to reduce the black cutout area at the top of the screen.

Beyond the smaller Dynamic Island, the iPhone 18 Pro series is also rumored to feature further display upgrades.

The device is expected to use an LTPO+ OLED panel, which would offer improved power efficiency while maintaining high image quality.

Camera improvements are also anticipated. Industry speculation indicates that the entire iPhone 18 lineup, including non-Pro models, could receive updates to their front-facing cameras, signaling Apple’s broader push to enhance imaging performance across its smartphone range.

Apple has not commented on the reports, and all specifications remain unconfirmed ahead of an official announcement.
