TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said Ethiopia and Angola have expressed interest in expanding agricultural cooperation with Indonesia.

Their interest was conveyed during Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka’s bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa.

“Both Angola and Ethiopia have stated their intention to visit Indonesia,” Airlangga said in a virtual press briefing on Sunday, November 23, 2025.

He added that delegations from the two countries are planning visits next year and that he would report the developments to President Prabowo Subianto.

Airlangga noted that several Indonesian companies are already operating in Ethiopia. Around five to six firms, he said, require government support to deepen their presence in the agricultural sector, particularly in palm oil derivative products.

In the technology sector, Airlangga said Finland is exploring cooperation with Indonesia to develop a data center.

He also mentioned the implementation of a memorandum of understanding between the country's PT Dahan and Rain Metal for collaboration on explosives facilities, although technical details are still under review.

During the G20 Summit, Vice President Gibran held six pull-aside meetings with the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, the Prime Minister of Vietnam, the President of Angola who also chairs the African Union, the President of Finland, the Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), and the Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).
