TEMPO.CO, Jakarta Floods and landslides have struck Tempur Village in the Keling District of Central Java's Jepara Regency on late Friday, January 9, 2026, cutting off access to a tourism village on the slopes of Mount Muria and prompting a power blackout.

Floods have eroded the only road access to the highest village in Jepara Regency, while the Gelis River water swept away the asphalt road.

A swirl of rock, mud, and pieces of wood, and water struck the houses in the Kemiren Hamlet in the village, as a small river nearby overflowed.

A series of landslides also blocked the road to Tempur Village. A number of electric poles fell, cutting off power and the communication network in the village.

Residents living around the river have evacuated to a safer location, and they brought their livestock.

The Regent of Jepara, Witiarso Utomo, stated that he has ordered his people to go to Tempur Village. "All teams are being deployed there," he said on Saturday, January 10, 2026.

A flash flood had previously struck Tempur Village in 2006. At that time, the flood isolated the village for months.
