TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Former Ngada Police Chief AKBP Fajar Widyadharma Lukman Sumaatmaja underwent an ethics hearing at the TNCC Building, Police Headquarters. The senior police officer had previously been named a suspect in the molestation of minors and drug abuse.

National Police Commission (Kompolnas) Commissioner Muhammad Choirul Anam stated that the ethics hearing for the former Ngada Police Chief was held at 09:00 WIB (Western Indonesian Time) by the Police Code of Ethics Commission (KKEP). Kompolnas acted as an external institution supervisor in this ethics hearing.

"The hearing schedule is this morning. We came to directly supervise how the hearing process is conducted. The anatomy of this incident has been quite substantial," said Anam to the media at the TNCC Building, Police Headquarters, on Monday, March 17, 2025.

Anam conveyed that this ethics hearing revealed other cases that may implicate AKBP Fajar. Such as the involvement of the lewd police officer with international mafia networks or local networks in his duty station. "We will elaborate on this incident," said Anam.

Prior to this, the Head of the Monitoring and Investigation Bureau and the Professional Development Division of the Indonesian National Police, Brigadier General Agus Wijayanto, stated that the ethics hearing was conducted after they detained AKBP Fajar at the Bareskrim Detention Center. "The Indonesian National Police Professional Development Division will hold an ethics code hearing for the suspected violator as planned on March 17, 2025," said Agus during a press conference last week.

Chronology of the Former Ngada Police Chief's Case

The former Ngada Police Chief is accused of sexually assaulting three minors and one 20-year-old adult. The three underage victims were six, 13, and 16 years old.

AKBP Fajar is also suspected of recording his sexual acts and uploading the videos to a child pornography site on the dark web. The police are still investigating the motive behind his actions.

The investigation into this case began with a report from the Police International Relations Division (Divhubinter) received by the Criminal Directorate of the East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police (Ditreskrimum Polda NTT).

The Director of the East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police Criminal Directorate, Kombes Patar Silalahi, explained that they received information on January 22, 2025, regarding allegations of indecent acts against minors by AKBP Fajar. The Ditreskrimum then conducted an investigation at a hotel in Kupang City, which was suspected to be the location of the alleged indecent acts.

The East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police obtained information from the hotel, checked CCTV footage, registration documents, and confiscated several pieces of evidence. "The evidence includes a child's love pink dress and documents such as a medical examination and eight compact discs containing sexual violence videos," said Patar.

Simultaneously, the Professional Development Division also conducted an investigation. During this process, the Division conducted a urine test on AKBP Fajar and found that he tested positive for narcotics. On Thursday, March 13, 2025, AKBP Fajar was named a suspect in indecent acts and narcotics. He has been charged with multiple offenses and is being held at the Bareskrim Police Detention Center.
