TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Presidential Economic Advisor Bambang Brodjonegoro asserts that fuel prices remain stable despite Pertamina's adulteration allegations. He attributes this stability to a balanced supply and demand.
"If the stability of prices is seen from the availability of supply and demand, as long as it is fulfilled, the prices should remain stable. Pertamina is still the largest supplier for fuel itself," said Bambang after attending the Green Energy Bursa Economic Insight event at Le Meridien, South Jakarta, on Wednesday, February 26, 2025.
However, Bambang admitted that he does not know the details of the case. "I don't really know the details," he said.
He believes that the most important thing now is to ensure the clarity of the facts before taking further steps.
"I think we need to clarify what actually happened first. I don't really know about it," he said.
Previously, the Attorney General's Office named four officials of PT Pertamina (Persero) as suspects in a case of alleged corruption in the management of crude oil and refinery products by the Attorney General's Office.
The suspects are from the directorate of Pertamina's subsidiaries and private parties allegedly involved from 2018 to 2023.
The suspects include Riva Siahaan as the President Director of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Sani Dinar Saifuddin as the Director Feedstock and Product Optimization of PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional, Yoki Firnandi as the President Director of PT Pertamina International Shipping, and Agus Purwono as the Vice President Feedstock Management of PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional.
In the importation process, Riva is suspected of procuring refinery products by purchasing RON 92 or Pertamax.
However, in reality, RON 90 or pertalite is bought. Then blending is done at the depot to become RON 92. Qohar emphasizes that this is clearly not allowed.
Meanwhile, suspect Yoki is accused of inflating prices by 13–15% during PT Pertamina International Shipping’s crude oil and refinery product imports, benefiting brokers like Kerry.
"The dominance of imports in crude oil supply has driven prices up," said Abdul Qohar, Deputy Director of Investigation for Special Crimes at the Attorney General's Office.
