TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Gaza government has reported that Israeli forces have carried out 497 violations of the ceasefire since the agreement came into effect.
Amid ongoing attacks across the region, at least 342 Palestinians have been killed and 875 others injured, according to an official statement from the Gaza Government Media Office.
The office accused Israel of systematically undermining the ceasefire through deadly attacks and repeated incursions. On Saturday, November 22, 27 violations were recorded, resulting in 24 deaths and 87 injuries, TRT World reported.
The Gaza authorities described these operations as violations of international humanitarian law and protocols.
Airstrikes and Civilian Home Destruction
Since October 10, violations have included shootings targeting civilians, homes, and refugee tents; ground raids crossing designated boundaries; air, artillery, and ground attacks; as well as the destruction of buildings.
The Gaza government stated that these actions aim to expand the existing damage and exacerbate the humanitarian crisis.
Israel currently occupies more than half of Gaza, with the designated "yellow line" serving as a separation between military zones and civilian residential areas.
Attacks near this line have intensified, putting surrounding populations at risk. Most recently, Gaza Civil Defense reported that at least 22 Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes that struck homes and vehicles in multiple locations.
Rising Tensions Extend to Lebanon
Tensions have also spread to southern Lebanon. Al Jazeera reported that on Tuesday, November 18, at least 13 people were killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting the Ein el-Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp, with four others injured and evacuated to nearby hospitals.
The drone strike hit a car in a mosque parking area on the outskirts of Sidon.
The Israeli military claimed the strike targeted Hamas operatives at a training complex within the camp.
“When we say we will not tolerate any threat on our northern border, this means all terrorist groups operating in the region,” the Israeli military’s Arabic spokesperson Avichay Adraee said in a statement.
“We will continue to act forcefully against Hamas’s attempts to establish a foothold in Lebanon and eliminate its elements that threaten our security.”
