TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The planet parade phenomenon will occur again in early 2025. Summarized from CNET, several planets in our solar system will be visible in the night sky at the same time.

The planet parade in the near future will show Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, and Uranus. The six planets are expected to be visible around January 21, 2025. The phenomenon can still be witnessed for up to four weeks afterward.

Planets such as Mars, Venus, Jupiter, and Saturn can be seen with the naked eye. Meanwhile, Neptune and Uranus can only be observed through a telescope or observation tool with high power.

The best time to see the planet parade in the northern hemisphere is around 8:30 p.m. local time, right after sunset. After that momentum, Venus, Saturn, and Neptune can still be seen on the horizon. Their position is below the horizon at 11:30 p.m. until midnight.

At a similar time, Mars, Jupiter, and Uranus will remain visible until dawn. Mars will set first before sunrise. This phenomenon is predicted to last longer than the previous planet parade. The regular position makes the line of planets visible every night, until the last week of February 2025.

First Expert Researcher at the Space Research Center of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), Gerhana Puannandra Putri, previously revealed several interesting astronomical phenomena that will occur in 2025. The celestial phenomena that can be witnessed in the Indonesian region include a planet parade and a total lunar eclipse.

"Usually it cannot be observed on the same night," said Puan, Gerhana's nickname in a discussion in Jakarta on December 2.

According to her, the four planets can be seen directly by the eye without the aid of binoculars, but must be in a clear night sky. Uranus' appearance is estimated to be dimmer than the other four planets.

Puan explained that "parade" is only a term to indicate a number of planets that appear simultaneously. The line of planets is not arranged vertically or forming a line. However, the momentum is special because a number of planets are rarely seen simultaneously. "The planets are spread across the sky," Puan told Tempo.
