TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Feng shui expert Yulius Fang explains the arrangement of a home according to feng shui principles can bring luck and harmony to a household in 2577 Kongzili/2026, the Year of the Fire Horse.
He emphasizes the importance of tidiness and cleanliness in the home during the transition from the Year of the Wood Snake to the Year of the Fire Horse. "Tidiness means no clutter, cleanliness means no dirt. If it's dirty, it needs to be repainted. And there should be brightness, meaning lights should be installed if it's dark, and turn them off when sleeping," said Yulius on Wednesday, February 11, 2026.
He suggests installing white lighting in the southern and northern parts of the house. It is advisable not to renovate these areas.
According to Yulius, the northern and southern areas of the house should not be used as bedrooms. In those areas, he suggests that the bed should not be placed in a specific direction to avoid potential issues in the Year of the Fire Horse.
Yulius adds that those with the zodiac signs Rat, Ox, Rooster, Rabbit, and Horse should avoid renovating their homes in the Year of the Fire Horse, as it could lead to disharmony. "So, if those with these signs renovate, especially in the northern and southern regions, it could be worse," he said. "If you're one of these signs, it's not advisable to renovate. It's better to be cautious and patient," he added.
If you plan to display decorations such as real or imitation fruit trees, he suggests not placing them in the Southwest, Northeast, Southeast, South, or Northwest for better luck.
It is recommended that decorations such as fruit-bearing or flowering trees be placed in the northern or western positions to attract luck, abundance, and offspring.
