TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Statistics Indonesia (BPS) recorded Indonesia's export value at US$22.52 billion in November 2025. This figure decreased by 6.60 percent compared to November 2024. The value of oil and gas exports was recorded at US$0.88 billion when broken down, which is a 32.88 percent decrease year-on-year. Meanwhile, exports of non-oil and gas products were recorded at US$21.64 billion, which is a 5.09 percent decrease from last year.

"The annual decline in the export value of November 2025 is primarily driven by the decrease in the non-oil and gas exports, specifically in the commodity of mineral fuels or HS27, which decreased by 18.89 percent with a contribution of minus 2.77 percent," said Deputy for Distribution and Services Statistics at BPS, Pudji Ismartini, during a press conference at the BPS office in Jakarta on Monday, January 5, 2026.

Additionally, commodities such as animal or vegetable fats and oils (HS15) decreased by 18.81 percent, contributing -2.12 percent. Next is iron and steel (HS72), which declined by 17.14 percent, contributing -1.71 percent.

Based on sectors, Pudji stated that the decline in non-oil and gas exports was primarily due to decreases in the mining and other sectors. This sector decreased by 22.28 percent, with a contributing decrease of 3.55 percent. "This annual decrease is mainly caused by the decrease in the export value of coal, copper ore, lignite, zirconium ores, niobium, and tantalum, as well as titanium ores," said Pudji.

From January to November of 2025, Indonesia's total exports reached $256.56 billion. This number increased by 5.61 percent compared to the same period in 2024. Meanwhile, the value of imports during the January–November period of 2025 reached $218.02 billion, which is a 2.03 percent increase compared to the same period in 2024.

In November 2025, Indonesia's trade balance experienced a surplus of US$2.66 billion. The surplus came from non-oil and gas trade transactions amounting to US$4.64 billion. Meanwhile, the oil and gas sector had a deficit of US$1.98 billion. For the period of January-November 2025, the trade balance showed a surplus of US$38.54 billion.
