TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - National Police Commission Commissioner Mohammad Choirul Anam confirms that former Ngada Police Chief AKBP Fajar Widyadharma Lukman Sumaatmaja will be dismissed from the Indonesian National Police due to his status as a suspect in a child sexual abuse and drug consumption case.
"He will definitely be given the sanction of dishonorable discharge," said Anam when met by the media at the Indonesian National Police Headquarters, TNCC Building, Jakarta, on Monday, March 17, 2025.
Anam's presence at the Indonesian National Police Headquarters is as a representative of Kompolnas to oversee the ethics hearing for the former Ngada Police Chief.
The ethics hearing was held at 09:00 AM today by the Indonesian National Police Code of Ethics Commission (KKEP).
According to Anam, the hearing will uncover potential cases involving AKBP Fajar, including possible ties to international mafia networks or local groups in his assigned region.
Previously, Brigadier General Agus Wijayanto, Head of the Supervision of Investigation and Professional Development Bureau at the National Police Professionalism and Security Affairs Division, stated that the ethics hearing took place after AKBP Fajar was detained at the Bareskrim Detention Center.
The Indonesian National Police Professional Development Division will hold an ethics code hearing for the suspected violator as planned on March 17, 2025," said Agus during a press conference last week.
Chronology of the Former Ngada Police Chief Case
The former Ngada Police Chief is said to have sexually harassed three underage children and one 20-year-old adult. The three underage victims are six years old, 13 years old, and 16 years old.
AKBP Fajar is also suspected of recording his sexual exploits and uploading the videos to a child pornography site on the dark web. The Indonesian National Police is still investigating the motive behind the individual's actions.
The chronology of the case investigation began with a report from the International Relations Division (Divhubinter) of the Indonesian National Police received by the Nusa Tenggara Timur Regional Police Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimum Polda NTT).
The Director of the Nusa Tenggara Timur Regional Police Criminal Investigation Directorate, Kombes Pol. Patar Silalahi, explained that they received information on January 22, 2025 regarding allegations of indecent acts against minors by AKBP Fajar.
The Criminal Investigation Directorate then investigated a hotel in Kupang City, which was suspected to be the location of the indecent acts. The NTT Regional Police gathered information from the hotel, checked CCTV footage, registration documents, and seized several pieces of evidence.
Patar stated that the evidence includes a pink child’s dress with a love motif, a medical examination report, and eight compact discs containing videos of sexual violence.
Meanwhile, the Professionalism and Security Affairs Division also launched an investigation. As part of the process, they conducted a urine test on AKBP Fajar, which confirmed a positive result for narcotics.
On Thursday, March 13, 2025, AKBP Fajar was named a suspect in cases of indecent acts and narcotics. He was charged with multiple offenses and detained at the Bareskrim Police Detention Center.
