TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesia Composite Index (IHSG) closed down by 0.62 percent to 8,075.7 in the first trading session today, Thursday, September 25, 2025. The decline in the IHSG occurred amid varied movements in the Asian market and a weakening United States market.
By the end of the first trading session, 242 stocks strengthened, while 462 weakened, and 138 remained unchanged. "With a total transaction value of Rp14.6 trillion, the trading frequency amounted to 1.66 million times and the trading volume reached 332.7 million lots," as explained by the Analyst Team of Samuel Sekuritas Indonesia on Thursday afternoon, September 25, 2025.
In the first session today, foreign investors recorded a net sell of Rp513.2 billion. Based on volume, the companies BUMI, GOTO, and WIRG were the most bought stocks by foreign investors. Meanwhile, FAST, ANTM, and SCMA were the most sold by foreign investors.
In terms of frequency, the stock of the newcomer company, Merdeka Gold Resources (EMAS), became the most actively traded stock in today's first session, with a transaction frequency of 133,969 times. This was followed by the stocks of BUMI and COIN with 82,923 and 66,030 transactions, respectively.
In terms of volume, the coal mining company, Bakrie Bumi Resources (BUMI), became the most traded stock in the first session today, with a trading volume of 77.1 million lots. GOTO followed with 44.5 million lots, and ZATA followed with 10.1 million.
The non-cyclical consumer sector index (IDXNONCYC) had the highest increase of any sector index in today's first session, rising 1.8 percent. This was followed by the property sector index (IDXPROPERTY) at 0.9 percent, and the technology sector index (IDXTECHNO) at 0.7 percent.
Meanwhile, the basic industry sector index (IDXBASIC) saw the most significant decrease in today's first session, -2.5 percent. This was followed by the transportation sector index (IDXTRANS) at -2.4 percent and the industrial sector index (IDXINDUST) at -1.6 percent.
The top five gainers based on the percentage increase in the first session today include ZATA (+35 percent to Rp81 per share); RANC (+25 percent to Rp650 per share); FUTR (+25 percent to Rp500 per share); KONI (+24.7 percent to Rp1,965 per share); and FAST (+24.7 percent to Rp464 per share).
Meanwhile, the top five companies with the deepest decline based on the percentage decrease include LIVE (-14.3 percent to Rp238 per share); EMAS (-10.7 percent to Rp3,250 per share); PADA (-10 percent to Rp72 per share); RONY (-10 percent to Rp2,790 per share); and TARA (-10 percent to Rp45 per share).
