TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Aviation mobility continues to surge ahead of the Christmas and New Year holidays this year. PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) recorded 3.4 million passengers at 37 airports. "With over 25 thousand flights," said the President Director of InJourney Airports, Mohammad Rizal Pahlevi, on Tuesday, December 23, 2025.
On the first day of this year's year-end holiday peak, December 20, 3,738 flights and 517 thousand air passengers were recorded. Meanwhile, the next day, as many as 3,695 flights and 512 thousand passengers were logged.
During that period, Rizal also noted high slot time at the airports, nearly 90 percent, signaling optimal flight operations during the year-end peak season.
According to Rizal, flight operations ahead of Christmas in InJourney Airports run smoothly. "The air traffic and services for passengers at InJourney Airports ran smoothly, including during the peak period of December 20-21, 2025," he said, adding that there have been 479 additional flights.
Rizal noted the five busiest airports during the holiday transport period as of December 21. These are Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Tangerang (1.19 million passengers), I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali (461 thousand passengers), Juanda Airport in Surabaya (288 thousand passengers), Sultan Hasanuddin Airport in Makassar (211 thousand passengers), and Kualanamu Airport in Deli Serdang (146 thousand passengers).
The year-end holiday aviation transport takes place from December 15, 2025 to January 5.
