TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Minister of Law, Supratman Andi Agtas, stated that the extradition documents for KPK fugitive Paulus Tannos have been sent to the Singaporean government. Up to now, Supratman is still waiting for confirmation from the Singaporean authorities regarding the completeness of the extradition documents that will determine the return of the corruption suspect to the homeland.
"We are just waiting for the next process so that hopefully all the documents are complete and all the processes there can be carried out," said Supratman to reporters at GOR Soemantri Brodjonegoro, on Sunday, February 23, 2025.
Supratman stated that the necessary documents for Paulus Tannos' extradition have been fulfilled. These documents include the Criminal Code translated into English.
Regarding the extradition document verification process, Supratman said that the Indonesian government cannot interfere. "It's the (Singaporean) government's business."
Paulus Tannos is a KPK fugitive in the electronic ID card project case. Tannos has been on the wanted list (DPO) since October 19, 2021.
Paulus officially became a suspect on August 13, 2019. He is suspected of being involved in a tender manipulation in the e-ID card project, causing state losses of Rp 2.3 trillion. Through meetings with several businessmen and officials, Paulus agreed to a 5 percent fee. He distributed the fee share to several members of the People's Representative Council and officials in the Ministry of Home Affairs.
He was arrested in Singapore by the Singaporean anti-corruption agency, the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB). Before the arrest, the International Relations Division of the Indonesian National Police sent a provisional arrest request to the Singaporean authorities to assist in capturing the fugitive.
On January 17, 2025, the Singaporean Attorney General's Office announced that Paulus Tannos had been arrested. Up to now, the Indonesian government is still processing Tannos' extradition.
