TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Chief of the Indonesian National Police, or Kapolri General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said that the peak prediction of Eid homecoming traffic is expected to occur on March 28-30, 2025.
Listyo Sigit conveyed this after a meeting with the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Budi Gunawan on Monday, March 10, 2025. He explained the preparations and readiness for securing the 2025 Eid homecoming traffic through 'Operation Ketupat 2025' to the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs.
"Therefore, Operation Ketupat 2025 will be divided into two periods: 17 days for the Lampung-Bali region, and 14 days for the other 28 Regional Police Offices (Polda)," said Listyo Sigit in his statement as quoted by Antara on Tuesday, March 11, 2025.
During the homecoming season, the Indonesian National Police (Polri) will prepare 2,835 2025 Eid homecoming command posts. The posts consist of 1,738 security posts, 788 service posts, and 309 integrated posts. These posts are intended to secure 126,736 security objects.
The public can also contact the 110 service provided by the police if they need assistance.
In addition, the police will also prepare various traffic engineering measures, ranging from the implementation of odd-even traffic patterns, contraflow, and one-way, as well as coordinate with local governments for the implementation of work patterns from any location or work from anywhere for workers in each region.
"The public in need of services during the homecoming can contact the hotline service that we have prepared," the Chief of Police said.
He stated that the government has provided incentives in the form of toll ticket discounts and transportation tools to expedite public mobility and alleviate congestion from the Eid homecoming and return traffic.
In addition, the Chief of Police said a rapid response team is also prepared to anticipate floods or landslides that may disrupt the travelers' journey.
