TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Apple Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Tim Cook has hinted at the debut of the iPhone SE 4 through a seven-second video uploaded on his personal X account. The video shows the Apple logo with white light reflections in shades of grey and black.

"Get ready to meet the newest member of the family. Wednesday, February 19. #AppleLaunch," reads Cook's tweet via the @tim_cook account on Thursday, February 13, 2025.

Citing GSM Arena, Apple is likely to launch the iPhone 14 SE, which in form and capability is not much different from the iPhone 14. This device, powered by the A18 chip, has 8 gigabytes (GB) of RAM, supporting Apple Intelligence. It features a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display.

Recent leaks suggest that Apple is making significant updates to the iPhone SE 4. One of the biggest changes spotted in circulating images is the removal of the traditional alert slider, which appears to be replaced by a standard button. The device is also rumored to feature a 48 MP rear camera and incorporate Face ID within its notch.

In line with European Union regulations, the iPhone SE 4 is expected to adopt a USB Type-C port, aligning with Apple's transition away from Lightning cables to comply with efforts to reduce electronic waste.

While Apple has yet to confirm the iPhone SE 4’s release, speculation about its price is already swirling. Some reports suggest the device could be priced above US$499 (Rp8.12 million). Another major rumor hints that the SE 4 might be the first Apple device to feature an internal cellular modem, signaling a shift away from Qualcomm’s 5G modems.

This is aimed at reducing dependence on Qualcomm, which has been supplying 5G modems for the iPhone. Apple has begun developing its own technology, acquiring Intel's modem division for US$1 billion in 2019.
