TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jasa Marga predicts that 2.18 million vehicles will leave Jakarta during the 2025 Eid al-Fitr homecoming. Jasa Marga President Director, Subakti Syukur, stated that this figure includes the traffic volume passing through four main toll gates (GT), namely GT Cikampek Utama, GT Kalihurip Utama, GT Ciawi, and GT Cikupa from H-10 to H+2 of the Eid al-Fitr.
"An increase of 1.14 percent compared to Eid al-Fitr in 2024," said Subakti in a press conference at the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) on Tuesday, March 4, 2025. "This is already with the assumption of WFA (work from anywhere) on March 24-27, 2025."
From the 2.18 million traffic volume leaving Jakarta, Subakti said that the peak of the homecoming is predicted to occur on Friday, March 28, 2025.
On that day, Jasa Marga projects there will be 232 thousand vehicles passing through. "An increase of 50 percent compared to normal traffic but a decrease of 9 percent compared to Eid al-Fitr in 2024," he said.
Meanwhile, the traffic volume entering Jakarta during the return exodus is predicted to reach 2.29 million vehicles. Subakti predicts a 0.5 percent decrease compared to the traffic returning to Jakarta in the previous Eid al-Fitr.
The peak of the return flow is expected to occur on April 6, 2025, or five days after Eid al-Fitr (H+5), with a 62 percent increase compared to normal traffic and a 3 percent rise from 2024," said Subakti.
To anticipate a potential surge in toll road traffic during the Eid homecoming, Subakti stated that Jasa Marga has prepared several mitigation measures, including expanding transaction lane capacity on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road.
"We have increased it from 22 lanes to 26," he said.
Additionally, Jasa Marga will open new toll road sections, such as the 8.5-kilometer Klaten-Prambanan segment of the Jogja-Solo Toll Road, which will be toll-free. The company will also functionalize the 6.78-kilometer Prambanan-Purwomartani segment and the 31.25-kilometer Sadang-Bojongmangu section of the Jakarta-Cikampek II Selatan Toll Road under police discretion.
Furthermore, Jasa Marga will operate the 23.47-kilometer Gending-Paiton segment of the Probolinggo-Banyuwangi Toll Road, also free of charge.
"That will also be toll-free," Subakti added.
