TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The people of Jakarta crowded the Hotel Indonesia (HI) Roundabout area to see the New Year's Eve celebration. People from various regions in the city started to flock to the area at 9 p.m.
The Bundara HI area is the center of the New Year's Eve entertainment stage, with other stages in front of Plaza Indonesia and Sarinah. Several Indonesian musicians such as Yura Yunita, and RAN, will enliven the night event on the main stage. Performances such as light shows, drone shows, and fireworks would also be held there. The drone show with LED lights will display its unique formations in the sky of Jakarta.
In addition, there will be dozens of entertainment stages along Jalan M.H. Thamrin to Jalan Sudirman with a variety of dangdut, pop, reggae and rock music performances. In addition to the entertainment stages, security and health posts have been set up around the area.
The Jalan Sudirman to Harmoni Central Jakarta was previously closed in stages due to the implementation of the Car Free Night on New Year's Eve 2025, Tuesday, December 31, 2024. This closure has been carried out starting from 6 p.m.
The Jakarta Metro Police have deployed 1,500 personnel to secure the 2025 New Year's Eve celebrations in the city. The security includes 900 personnel from the Jakarta Metro Police and 600 personnel from regional units deployed at various strategic points.
Jakarta Metro Police Chief of Public Relations, Senior Commissioner Ade Ary Syam Indradi, said security would be provided at 12 priority entertainment venues. Some of these locations include the Panin Bank building (Jakarta Bernostalgia), SCBD area (Jakarta Berdansa), FX Sudirman (Jakarta Indie), Orient Hotel (Jakarta Berdendang), World Trade Center Sudirman building (Jakarta Bernyanyi).
"Then at Wisma Nugra Santana (Jakarta Punk), Japanese Embassy (Jakarta Rock) Sari Pacific Building (Electric Jakarta), Horse Statue Area (Jakarta Bergoyang) UOB Building (BUMN-BTN), Dukuh Atas-JXB River Area (BUMD-PAM Jaya) and at Lapangan Banteng (Pesona Dekade)," he said in an official statement on Monday, December 30, 2024.
