TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Provincial Government will finally dismantle 109 abandoned monorail pillars along HR Rasuna Said Street, Kuningan, South Jakarta. The dismantling is scheduled for the third week of January 2026.

The Head of the Data and Information Center of Jakarta Bina Marga, Dinar Wenny, stated that the removal is part of the revitalization of the eastern section of HR Rasuna Said Street. "The dismantling of the monorail pillars on HR Rasuna Said Street is part of the revitalization of the eastern section of HR Rasuna Said Street," Dinar told Tempo on Thursday, January 8, 2026.

According to her, the project covers the dismantling of pillars and overall infrastructure development. The work includes road and drainage construction, sidewalk organization, renewal of public street lighting (PJU), and the addition of facilities such as bus stops and street furniture.

All revitalization work in the eastern section of HR Rasuna Said Street is scheduled to commence in January 2026 and is targeted for completion by September 2026. "All of these activities are a comprehensive package that will start in January 2026 and is scheduled to be completed by September 2026," said Dinar.

Dinar mentioned that, as HR Rasuna Said Street is a main road with high traffic volume, the Bina Marga Department will coordinate with the Transportation Department and other agencies during execution. This coordination aims to regulate traffic engineering and security so that the impact on public mobility remains minimal.

She hopes the revitalization process runs smoothly and receives public support. "Thus, the community can later feel the benefits in the form of safety and convenience for both drivers and pedestrians," she said.

Prior to this, Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo ensured that the dismantling of the pillars would not lead to road closures. "Based on existing experience, Bina Marga is coordinating the dismantling without road closures," said Pramono as quoted from Antara.

Pramono emphasized that the dismantling is carried out entirely by the Jakarta Provincial Government. He mentioned that this step was taken after Adhi Karya did not respond to the letter sent by the Provincial Government regarding the continuation of the monorail project.
