TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Amid Indonesia's political unrest, protests are not limited to the country itself. One of the international voices showing solidarity is South Korean musician eaJ Park.

The former DAY6 member expressed his support for Indonesians concerned about the approval of Draft Law No. 34 Year 2004 on the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI Law) on Thursday, March 20, 2025.

eaJ Park took to social media to highlight the wave of protests following the law’s enactment. His posts on X and Instagram gained significant attention, particularly after he responded to a tweet by singer Baskara Putra, known as Hindia.

eaJ Park Prays for Indonesia

Shortly after the approval of the bill was announced, Hindia tweeted on his X account, @wordfangs. "Is this really approved?" he wrote, expressing disappointment with the outcome of the parliamentary session in passing the TNI Law revision.

eaJ Park responded to the tweet.

"Prayers out to Indonesia. Stay strong," he wrote in English through his X account @eaJPark. The singer of 'You Were Beautiful' also reshared several posts explaining the reasons why the public rejects the revision of the law.

On his personal Instagram, the owner of the real name Park Jae Hyung reiterated his support with a message.

"Praying for you, Indonesia. Hoping for your safety and that you can stay strong," he wrote in his Instagram Story. He also linked a post from the @whatisupindonesia account, which provided explanations in English about the public's concerns regarding the revision of the TNI Law.

Most recently, on March 21, 2025, eaJ Park reiterated his concern by reposting Tempo's article titled Indonesian House Passes Controversial Military Bill Amid Public Concern.

Not the First Time eaJ Park Speaks Out

This is not the first time he has shown his concern for the political situation in Indonesia. On August 23, 2024, when protests rejecting the revision of the Regional Head Election Law reverberated, eaJ Park also voiced his support.

At that time, he reposted Hindia's tweet and various posts supporting the mass movement.

"I realize I may lose opportunities in a place I love, with people I love even more but it is impossible to stand in silence as my peers fight for awareness. Please take a moment to read this and please stay safe out there," he wrote in a post on X.

At the time, his post featured a 'State of Emergency' (Peringatan Darurat) message alongside the Garuda Pancasila symbol and details about the Jakarta Regional Head Election, where two gubernatorial candidates from opposing camps were in intense competition.

Support from public figures like eaJ Park shows that the protests against the newly passed TNI law are not only resonating within Indonesia but also capturing global attention.
