TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has issued a travel ban for five suspects in the corruption case involving advertising funds at Bank BJB. They have been prohibited from traveling abroad since late February.
KPK spokesperson Tessa Mahardhika Sugiarto said the travel ban was based on Decision Letter Number 373 of 2025 dated February 28, 2025. The five individuals who have been barred from leaving the country are YR and WH, who are high-ranking officials at Bank BJB, as well as IAD, SUH, and RSJK from the private sector. "KPK has issued Decision Letter Number 373 of 2025," he said in an official statement on Thursday, March 13, 2025.
Based on Tempo's observation, the five individuals are former CEO of Bank BJB, Yuddy Renaldi, Corporate Secretary Division head of Bank BJB, Widi Hartoto, and three individuals; Ikin Asikin Dulmanan, Suhendrik, and Sophan Jaya Kusuma. They are prohibited from traveling abroad for the next six months pending the anti-graft agency probing.
The travel ban was issued after KPK released the investigation order the day prior. The anti-graft agency said the corruption scandal caused the state losses of around Rp222 billion.
KPK flagged the misappropriation of Bank BJB’s advertising funds last year, as reported by Tempo on September 22, 2024, in an article titled “Siapa Terlibat Korupsi Anggaran Iklan Bank BJB,” or “Who’s Involved in Bank BJB’s Corruption Case.”
The report contained the results of the Financial Audit Agency's examination issued on March 6, 2024. The document contains the BPK's audit of several activities at Bank BJB from 2021-2023.
One of them is the realization of budget management for product promotion and advertising expenses, where Bank BJB collaborated with six agencies as intermediaries with media companies, amounting to Rp341 billion. BPK found indications of cost markup in the advertising funds.
