TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Member of the PDIP legal team, Donny Tri Istiqomah, complied with the KPK's summons for questioning as a suspect in the alleged bribery case involving former PDIP cadre, Harun Masiku.
A close person of PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto who currently holds the suspect status, was present at the KPK's Merah Putih building.
Sitting on a black sofa with several other people, Donny was seen conversing with a glasses man in a suit before eventually stepping aside for the questioning.
Donny wore a red collared t-shirt for today's questioning. At around 11:07 AM WIB, Donny headed to the questioning room after being called by a KPK officer and then evading the gaze of reporters.
The anti-corruption commission has designated Donny Tri Istiqomah, a lawyer and bankruptcy curator, as a suspect in the Investigation Order (sprindik) number Sprin.Dik/154/DIK.00/01/12/2024 on December 23, 2024. He is implicated in giving bribes to former KPU member, Wahyu Setiawan, to arrange the appointment of Harun Masiku as an elected DPR member.
Before being designated as a suspect, Donny had been questioned several times by the KPK as a witness in the series of sting operations (OTT) involving former KPU Commissioner, Wahyu Setiawan. Donny was questioned regarding the alleged money flow to Wahyu Setiawan in the case of bribing the replacement of DPR members.
This bribery case involves several parties, including Harun Masiku who allegedly provided bribery money to Wahyu Setiawan, with the assistance of Hasto Kristiyanto and Donny Tri Istiqomah. The bribery was intended for Harun Masiku to be appointed as an Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) member for the Sumsel I electoral district.
According to Setyo Budiyanto, this group gave bribery reached 19,000 Singapore dollars and 38,350 US dollars in total, delivered between December 16 and December 23, 2019.
Until now, the KPK continues to delve into this case and further investigate the other parties' involvement in the series of bribery that potentially harms Indonesia's democratic system. Donny Tri Istiqomah, as part of this network, is currently facing the legal process that will determine his role in the case.
With the designation as a suspect, Donny Tri Istiqomah has now become a public spotlight, and the subsequent legal process will serve as evidence of whether he is truly involved in the corrupt acts that harm this nation.
