TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Minister of Law Supratman Andi Agtas has signed the extradition request for the fugitive of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Paulus Tannos. He said that the extradition of Paulus Tannos is one of the central issues of his ministry.

"I have already signed the letter for the extradition request for [Paulus Tannos]," Supratman said in a meeting with Commission XIII of the DPR, at the parliament complex in Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Monday, February 17, 2025, which was broadcast on the TV Parliament YouTube channel.

He explained that the Ministry of Law coordinates with all relevant law enforcement agencies. "Thank God, we have communicated with all law enforcement agencies, including KPK, the Attorney General's Office, as well as the National Police yesterday, and we all worked together to complete the documents as soon as possible," said Supratman.

He ensured all the extradition documents for Paulus Tannos would be completed soon. Therefore, the extradition process can be carried out promptly. "Thank God, hopefully, the documents should be completed as soon as possible," he said.

Paulus Tannos is the fugitive of the KPK in the electronic ID card project case. Tannos has been on the wanted list since October 19, 2021.

He has been detained in Singapore by the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB). Before his arrest, the International Relations Division of the Indonesian National Police sent a provisional arrest request to the Singapore authorities to assist in capturing the fugitive.

On January 17, 2025, the Attorney General of Singapore reported that Tannos had been arrested. To this day, the Indonesian government is still processing Tannos' extradition.

Supratman said that the Indonesian government has 45 days to complete the dossier. This means that at the latest, all the required documents for Tannos' extradition must be submitted by March 3, 2025. "But I assure you that we will not wait until March 3. It will be done soon," said Supratman after a press conference in Jakarta, on Wednesday.

Once the documents are completed, Supratman said that the extradition request for Paulus Tannos will be processed first in the Singapore Court. However, regarding the trial process in Singapore, he said that the Indonesian government cannot intervene. This is because there is still an appeal process after the trial and first-instance decision in Singapore.
