TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) has released the list of 28 players who have been called up to represent the Indonesian National Team in the fourth round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers in the Asian zone in October.
In this stage, the Garuda squad will face the hosts, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah.
Indonesian National Team coach Patrick Kluivert has selected three goalkeepers, namely Maarten Paes, Emil Audero, and Ernando Ari. In defense, the squad includes Justin Hubner, Jay Idzes, Rizki Ridho, Jordi Amat, and Kevin Diks.
For the wing positions, Sandy Walsh, Calvin Verdonk, Dean James, Yance Sayuri, Eliano Reijnders, and Shayne Pattynama have been called up.
In midfield, Kluivert has chosen Shayne Pattynama, Nathan Tjoe-A-On, Thom Haye, Joey Pelupessy, Marc Klok, Ricky Kambuaya, Beckham Putra, and Stefano Lilipaly.
In the attacking line, the coach has called up Ragnar Oratmangoen, Miliano Jonathans, Egy Maulana, Yakob Sayuri, Ole Romeny, Mauro Zijlstra, and Ramadhan Sananta.
The squad was officially announced through the Indonesian National Team's Instagram account on Wednesday night, September 24, 2025.
Kluivert had already experimented with his options earlier this month during the FIFA Matchday fixtures at Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium in Surabaya.
On September 5, Indonesia thrashed Taiwan 6–0 with Emil Audero, Eliano Reijnders, Jordi Amat, Rizki Ridho, Shayne Pattynama, Yakob Sayuri, Beckham Putra, Egy Maulana, Marc Klok, Nathan Tjoe-A-On, and Ramadhan Sananta in the starting lineup. Several rotations were introduced in the second half.
Just three days later, against Lebanon, only Emil and Yakob retained their spots in a heavily rotated side that ended in a 0–0 draw. That lineup featured Calvin Verdonk, Dean James, Jay Idzes, Kevin Diks, Ricky Kambuaya, Joey Pelupessy, Stefano Lilipaly, Mauro Zijlstra, and Miliano Jonathans.
According to National Team manager Sumardji, all players, coaches, and officials are set to gather in Saudi Arabia on October 1. This gives Kluivert and his staff eight days to prepare before Indonesia’s first fixture against Saudi Arabia on Thursday, October 9, at 12:15 AM WIB.
Three days later, the Garuda squad will take on Iraq at the same venue, kicking off at 02:00 AM WIB.
To secure a place at the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Mexico, and Canada, Indonesia must top Group B. Finishing second would still allow a chance via the inter-confederation playoff in March 2026.
