TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Liverpool has successfully secured the English Premier League 2024-2025 title after defeating Tottenham Hotspur 5-1 in a match held at Anfield Stadium on Sunday, April 27, 2025.
Goals from Luis Diaz (16'), Alexis Mac Allister (24'), Cody Gakpo (34'), Mohamed Salah (63'), and Destiny Udogie (own goal, 69') ensured Liverpool's 20th championship title. Meanwhile, Tottenham initially took the lead through Dominic Solanke's goal (12').
Under the guidance of coach Arend "Arne" Slot, the team ensured their victory as the champions of this season's English Premier League, leaving behind closest competitor Arsenal, who are in the second position. Liverpool sits at the top with 82 points, leading Arsenal by 15 points with four matches remaining. Arsenal cannot catch up with their points, as they can only obtain 12 points if they win all remaining four matches.
This is Liverpool's latest English Premier League title since the 2019/20 season, when the team, also known as The Reds, was still managed by Jurgen Klopp.
This title marks Liverpool's 20th in English football history, and the second in the Premier League era. Meanwhile, Manchester City remains the club with the most English Premier League titles in the last decade, with six trophies.
