TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The prestigious Ivy League institutions currently hold numerous prominent academic acknowledgments under their belts, pioneering the higher educational scene. Each of the schools is renowned for curating meticulous academic standards that help produce awe-inspiring graduates.
With a line of noble alumni and an influential reputation, their single-digit acceptance rates have become an inevitable clause. However, there is always a change of available seats annually due to multiple reasons. For aspiring students, this article reveals some of the easiest Ivy Leagues to get into.
5 Easiest Ivy Leagues to Get Into
Crimson Education and Empowerly shared Ivy League class of 2027/2028 acceptance rates, assigning Cornell University and Dartmouth College as two of the easiest Ivy Leagues to get into, with other institutions as mentioned below.
Cornell University
While it takes power to conquer its extensive admission process, Cornell University’s overall acceptance rate of 8.4% makes it the easiest Ivy League to get into. Despite admitting 5,139 students to the class of 2028, or a four percent increase from last year, the university is seeing a decline in their overall acceptance rate from five years ago.
Sorted out into two programs, applicants of the Early Decision phase benefit from a three times higher acceptance rate than those submitting during the Regular Decision round. Crimson Education notes that there has been a twenty percent influx of Early Decision applicants for the past four years, from about 1,500 to 1,900.
University of Pennsylvania
The University of Pennsylvania, also known for its nickname UPenn, was founded by an American founding father, Benjamin Franklin, in 1740. Following its legacy to educate future generations, the university is now ranked 11 on the QS World University Rankings, promising a single digit of an overall acceptance rate at 5.4%. Even so, the school’s rather high acceptance rate compared to the rest of the Ivy League doesn’t exactly guarantee a seat.
Boasting a faculty-to-student ratio of 6:1, UPenn offers over 90 fields of study across its 12 schools, with the inclusion of the world-renowned Wharton School of Business, which has been a dominant force in the business education setting.
Dartmouth College
With an overall admission rate of 5.3%, Dartmouth College becomes one of the easiest Ivies to get into for the following school year. Among other Ivy schools, Dartmouth has a seventeen percent higher Early Decision acceptance rate since many students decided to submit their applications during the mentioned phase.
As a research university, this school focuses on research opportunities, interdisciplinary learning, and academic flexibility across the 40 departments and programs. Today, Dartmouth College has a 7:1 student-to-faculty ratio that allows students to pursue double degree programs.
Brown University
Brown University is reportedly the only major research school in the United States that grants access to developing a personalized course of study for their students. Their open curriculum arrangement promises a sample of wide-ranging courses to take before the actual academic concentration. Applicants are due to an overall acceptance rate of 5.2% to become a part of this Rhode Island University’s thriving community.
Princeton University
With an overall acceptance rate of 4.6%, Princeton University closes the list of the easiest Ivy Leagues to get into. According to Crimson Education, this fourth-oldest college in the United States offers a financial aid program with little or no debt of the $56,100 tuition.
While gaining admission to an Ivy League school is undeniably competitive, understanding the list of the easiest Ivy Leagues to get into can provide valuable insights for aspiring students. For a similar list, check out also the best art schools in the United States here.
