TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia’s Lombok Airport served 2,367,545 passengers throughout 2024, recording a 1.4 percent increase compared to the previous year with 2,335,206.
The international airport also saw 25,207 aircraft movements. However, the airport recorded a 3.2 percent decrease in cargo movements, from 13,353 tons in 2023 to 12,932 tons of cargo.
The increase in the number of passengers was driven by sports tourism events and the growth during the year-end holiday season, which saw an 11 percent increase from December 18, 2024, to January 5, 2025.
During the end-of-year holiday season, Lombok Airport served 135,368 passengers or an average of 7,125 passengers per day.
“This figure rose by 11 percent compared to the 2023 year-end holiday, which saw 121,840 passengers,” said Lombok Airport General Manager Barata Singgih Riwahono on Monday, January 6.
In terms of aircraft movements, Lombok Airport recorded a 2 percent decrease from 1,238 aircraft movements in 2023 to 1,208 aircraft movements in 2024. Meanwhile, cargo movements also decreased by 8 percent, from 607 tons to 558 tons.
