TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Head of the Indonesian Capital City Authority (IKN) Basuki Hadimuljono claimed that several investors are ready to invest and lay the first stone or groundbreaking in IKN. Among them is a foreign company, Citadel Group, a private company from Malaysia.
He said the Citadel Group company will build infrastructure in the residential sector. In addition, Basuki also talked about the groundbreaking plan for hotel and office projects whose investors are from within the country. These projects are expected to start in January 2025. However, he said the implementation would be adjusted to President Prabowo Subianto's schedule.
"We proposed to President Prabowo (for the groundbreaking in January) because the Minister of PU (Public Works) proposed for several that are ready to be inaugurated," Basuki said when met at the ATR/BPN Ministry Office on Tuesday, December 31, 2024.
Before the Malaysian company, another foreign company that invested in IKN was Delonix Bravo Investment from China. This was proven when the seventh president Joko Widodo or Jokowi inaugurated the construction of a mixed-use area of 24,200 square meters.
The budget spent by Delonix to build the IKN reached Rp500 billion. The half-a-trillion investment will be used to build various facilities such as hotels, apartments, shopping malls, sports and fitness facilities, green open areas, and offices. The area will later be named Delonix Nusantara.
Jokowi described the Delonix Bravo Investment as a pioneer of foreign investment in Indonesia's new capital. He also hopes that Delonix's presence in the IKN will encourage other foreign investors to enter the IKN soon.
"Delonix Group is the first foreign company to invest in IKN, and this will influence the confidence of other investors to immediately enter the Indonesian capital," Jokowi said during the groundbreaking ceremony of Delonix Nusantara at the IKN on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, monitored by the Presidential Secretariat.
