TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian mixed doubles pair Jafar Hidayatullah and Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu fell short in their bid for the Australian Open 2025 title, losing to Malaysia’s Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei in straight games, 21-16, 21-11, on Sunday, November 23, 2025.

The Malaysian top seeds dominated from the outset, applying relentless pressure that prevented the Indonesian duo from settling into their rhythm. Jafar and Felisha, seeded second, struggled to match their opponents’ pace and aggression throughout the match.

Playing on Court 1 at Sydney Olympic Park, the Indonesians trailed 4-9 and 6-11 at the first-game interval. They staged a brief comeback to level the score at 14-14 and later 15-15, but Chen and Toh quickly regained control and closed out the opening game 21-16.

The second game unfolded in similar fashion. Chen and Toh raced ahead 6-1, then widened the gap to 10-2 with sharp attacking play. Jafar and Felisha were unable to turn the tide, and the Malaysians sealed the match 21-11 after 42 minutes.

The result extends Chen and Toh’s winning streak over the Indonesian pair to five consecutive matches, maintaining their perfect record in the rivalry.

For the Malaysian duo, the victory marks their first title of 2025, following a runner-up finish at the Super 750 China Masters in September.
