TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The free health check (CKG) program officially started yesterday, February 10, 2025. This program aims to improve the quality of public health and reduce the burden of preventable diseases.

As reported by the official website of the Ministry of Health, health checks in the free health check program cover various diseases that can be prevented through early detection. The program is designed to address the high mortality rate from preventable diseases.

Director General of Primary and Community Health Maria Endang Sumiwi said CKG is a preventive measure against various common diseases in Indonesia. "We have mapped the disease burden based on the life cycle of the Indonesian people, from infants, toddlers, adolescents, adults, to the elderly," she said.

The implementation of CKG will follow the community lifecycle focusing on three main areas, CKG for birthdays, CKG for schools, and CKG specifically for pregnant women and toddlers. The birthday CKG covers health checks for children aged 0-6 years and individuals aged 18 years and above. These screenings are available at community health centers and clinics that have partnered with the program.

The screening types in CKG are diverse, including hormone deficiency screening, detection of congenital heart disease, nutritional examination, ear and eye examination, and blood pressure measurement. For adults and the elderly, the checks will focus on the risk of stroke, heart disease, cancer, as well as mental and physical health.

The screenings are provided according to age groups, including;

- The detection of congenital abnormalities in newborns.

- Measurement of growth (weight and height) and development of toddlers.

- Blood pressure measurement, blood sugar levels, and kidney function.

- Sensory health checks (eyes and ears).- Dental examination, mental health, and others.

The public can participate in these free health checks by registering through the SATUSEHAT Mobile (SSM) application. After registering, notifications for free health check tickets will be sent via WhatsApp on H-30, H-7, H-1, and exactly on the birthday.

In addition, 7 days before the birthday, participants are required to complete a health screening questionnaire on their own. These check tickets can be used at first-level healthcare facilities (FKTP) that partner with BPJS Health within a maximum period of 30 days after the birthday (H+30).
