TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Directorate General of Financing and Risk Management (DJPPR) of the Finance Ministry has announced record-breaking sales for the first retail State Securities (SBN) of 2025, the Retail State Bonds series ORI027, totaling Rp37.35 trillion. All funds raised from the issuance of ORI027 will be used to meet the financing targets outlined in the 2025 State Budget.
The ORI027 series bonds were offered in two tenors: ORI027T3 with a 3-year tenor and ORI027T6 with a 6-year tenor. The sales breakdown is as follows: ORI027T3 amounting to Rp32.96 trillion and ORI027T6 amounting to Rp4.39 trillion.
"ORI027T3 and ORI027T6, which were offered from January 27 to February 20, 2025, recorded the highest order booking in the history of retail SBN issuance, both in terms of nominal and number of investors," according to an official statement from the DJPPR released on Saturday, March 1, 2025.
This surpasses the previous record of Rp31.5 trillion, set by the SR008 series in 2016.
In terms of investor participation, ORI027T3 and ORI027T6 attracted 86,624 investors, exceeding the previous record of 70,467 investors during the ST013 issuance.
The Ministry's statement attributes the high demand for ORI027T3 and ORI027T6 to the reinvestment of maturing retail SBN.
During the offering period, two retail SBN series matured: SBR012T2, totaling Rp16.7 trillion on February 10, 2025, and ORI021, totaling Rp25.06 trillion on February 15, 2025. Approximately 75 percent of the total ORI027T3 and ORI027T6 sales, amounting to Rp27.8 trillion, stemmed from reinvestments of these two matured retail SBN series.
Key highlights of the ORI027T3 and ORI027T6 order results are as follows:
The total number of investors reached 86,624, with 76,866 for ORI027T3 and 14,292 for ORI027T6. 28.96 percent, or 25,087, were new investors.
6,944 investors placed orders of Rp1 million, representing 7 percent of total investors and 0.02 percent of the total nominal value.
Millennials comprised the largest group of investors by number at 45.9 percent. However, Generation X (39 percent) and baby boomers (35 percent) dominated in terms of nominal value.
Private employees represented the largest group of investors by profession, at 33.8 percent. Entrepreneurs dominated in terms of nominal value, at 39 percent.
Female investors dominated both in number (58 percent) and nominal value (50.2 percent).
Housewives ranked among the top four investor professions.
