TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The police have not yet identified the cause of the Glodok Plaza fire that occurred on Wednesday night, January 15, 2025. "We cannot speculate to determine or state the cause of an incident," said West Jakarta Police Chief Commissioner Twedi Aditya Bennyahdi to the media at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital on Friday, January 24, 2025.
Twedi stated that, as of now, the police have not been able to decide when they will conduct a crime scene investigation (CSI). Officers are still clearing the fire site, which is filled with debris. After clearing up the CSI, the police will coordinate with the Forensic Laboratory Center team to conduct the investigation.
In addition, the police have not been able to decide how long the search for victims at the fire site will continue. "As for the final day (of the search), we are coordinating with the head of the Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD)," said Twedi.
As of Friday, January 24, 2025, the Kramat Jati Police Hospital has received 12 body bags from the Glodok Plaza fire. Following post-mortem examinations and matching with antemortem data, three victims have been successfully identified.
They are Zukhi Fitria Rahdja, a 42-year-old male employee of a state-owned enterprise (BUMN); Aulia Belinda, a 28-year-old female and former Lion Air flight attendant; and Osima Yukari, a 29-year-old female flight attendant for BBN Airlines.
