Update on the Funeral Rites of the Pope

The Office for the Liturgical Celebrations of the Supreme Pontiff has produced and implemented the second edition of the series of rites Ordo Exsequiarum Romani Pontificis, approved in 1998.
The death of a pope is no longer treated as a closed papal funeral in a chamber. The mortal remains of a pope will be placed in a coffin, placed in a chapel, and opened for public viewing. This is done so that all faithful can see the pope's body as a priest and disciple of Christ, not as a ruler.
Even the requirement for a papal burial using three types of coffins, made of cedar wood, oak wood, and lead, has also been abolished. This is a form of rejection that the pope must be placed in the highest position among all people.
Archbishop Diego Ravelli, the Master of Ceremonies of the Apostolic Ceremony at the time, stated that this second edition was important. First, it was Pope Francis' request. Second, it was meant to simplify the Pope, who is sometimes misconceived as a world ruler.

The Attendance of Many People

From Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto has appointed the 7th Indonesian President, Joko Widodo, or Jokowi, to attend. The presence of these individuals is suspected to lead to one of the most awkward meetings of state representatives. One is the meeting between Trump and Zelenskyy, who had a conflict last February.
However, it should be noted that the guests at Pope Francis' funeral are arranged in alphabetical order. So, the possibility of these awkward meetings of heads of state may not be as concerning to everyone.
