TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto inspected the flood-affected areas in Bali on Saturday, September 13, 2025, after his diplomatic visit to Qatar the previous day.
According to a broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube channel, the presidential plane carrying Prabowo landed at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport at 11:15 a.m. WIB.
Dressed in a cream safari suit, the President was greeted by Bali Governor I Wayan Koster, Commander of the IX/Udayana Military Command Major General TNI Piek Budyakto, and Bali Police Chief Inspector General Daniel Adityajaya.
From the airport, Prabowo then traveled to the flood-affected areas in a white 'maung' car.
Prabowo's Visit to Qatar
In Qatar, Prabowo had a meeting with the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan (MBZ). The Presidential Secretariat's Bureau of Press, Media, and Information reported that the two leaders discussed current geopolitical issues, particularly the recent escalation in the Middle East. They exchanged views on the unfolding dynamics in the region.
Vice President Gibran’s Earlier Visit
Prior to this, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka inspected the flood-affected zones in Bali Province on Friday, September 12, 2025. He was accompanied by the Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), Suharyanto.
The Vice President, who is the son of former President Joko Widodo, stated that damaged homes and infrastructure would be repaired through a collaborative effort between the central and regional governments. "Later, the houses and shops that were damaged will be repaired," he said.
Gibran's entourage also visited the homes of flood victims and inspected the cleanup efforts at Badung Market. According to the BNPB, the basement of the market, which serves as a parking area, was submerged. A joint team successfully evacuated two cars and 43 motorcycles from the basement and is still working to pump out the remaining floodwater.
Flood Situation Update
Head of the BNPB Suharyanto confirmed that all flood points in Bali had receded. "The floods in Bali on September 10, which were widely reported, are now officially declared over, with no more water puddles anywhere," he stated.
Suharyanto also noted that on Friday, 185 evacuees remained in shelters overnight, returning to their homes during the day to clean up. For the victims who are still missing, a joint search team is continuing its efforts. "The golden time for finding the victims is six or seven days," he added.
