TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has emphasized that the free Eid homecoming program must be free from illegal levies.

He also asked the free Eid homecoming participants to report if they encounter illegal levies or extortion practices during the implementation of this program.

"We urge everyone to ensure that this Eid homecoming is free from illegal levies," said Pramono at the National Monument, Central Jakarta, on Thursday, March 27, 2025.

Pramono Anung stated that travelers can report illegal levies to officers at the complaint post or through the illegal levies complaint application provided by the Jakarta Provincial Government.

Pramono emphasized that illegal levies must be addressed seriously to prevent further issues.

He stated that the Jakarta Provincial Government has partnered with the Jakarta Metro Police, Jakarta Garrison Command, and the Prosecutor's Office to eliminate illegal levies.

"That's why I urge everyone to be aware, stand against it, and report any instances of illegal levies," he said.

Pramono Anung sent off the departure of 15,049 free Eid homecoming participants organized by the Jakarta Provincial Government yesterday.

The Eid homecoming participants will be sent to 20 cities and regencies in 6 provinces from the departure point at the National Monument area, Central Jakarta.

"I had the opportunity to check several buses, and they are in very good condition. Hopefully, they will reach their destinations without breaking their fast," said Pramono at the National Monument, Central Jakarta, on Thursday, March 27, 2025.

Pramono said the number of free Eid homecoming travelers this year has increased compared to the target. Jakarta Government initially provided a quota of free Eid homecoming for around 23 thousand travelers, but the high enthusiasm of the people increased the number to more than 26 thousand travelers.

Head of the Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, said that for this year's free Eid homecoming, the Jakarta Provincial Government provided 521 bus units for participants with a total of 22,430 available seats and 20 truck units with the capacity to carry 600 motorcycles.

"The motorcycle transportation trucks have departed from the Pulogadung terminal on March 26, and today, the travelers will depart for 20 cities," said Syafrin.

The destinations include Bandar Lampung, Palembang, TasikMalaya, Kuningan, Tegal, Pekalongan, Semarang, Kebumen, Cilacap, Purwokerto, Solo, Wonogiri, Wonosobo, Seragen, Yogyakarta, Madiung, Kediri, Jombang, Malang, and Sidoarjo.
