Singapore's Apartment Coffee Retains Asia's Best Caf Title in 2026

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Apartment Coffee in Singapore has drawn growing attention among coffee enthusiasts across Asia this year, with the minimalist café on Selegie Road named the region’s best café for the second consecutive year.

According to the 2026 list of The World’s 100 Best Coffee Shops, the café also secured sixth place globally, the same ranking it achieved last year.

The The World's 100 Best Coffee Shops ranking is often described as the “Michelin Guide” of the global coffee industry. The list is compiled through a transparent voting process that combines assessments from expert panels and the general public.

Cafés are evaluated based on several criteria, including the quality of coffee beans, barista expertise, consistency of taste, and the overall atmosphere that shapes the customer experience.

According to Time Out, Apartment Coffee is known for its meticulous concept and carefully curated menu. The offerings are intentionally concise to ensure each cup is brewed with maximum precision and quality.

The café’s team also travels directly to coffee farms in Colombia and Rwanda to oversee the sourcing and selection of coffee beans.

The café was founded by Yeo Qing He, a 34-year-old coffee professional who won the Singapore Brewers Cup championship in 2018. Since establishing the café, Yeo has promoted a vision of artisan coffee that highlights the distinctive characteristics of beans from different origins through careful roasting and brewing.

In addition to its main outlet on Selegie Road, the brand has opened another location called Apartment Roastery on Jalan Riang, which operates primarily on weekends. Featuring interiors dominated by white walls and natural wooden furniture, the café offers a calm coffee-drinking atmosphere amid the bustle of the city.

Globally, the 2026 ranking is dominated by well-known cafés from several continents. The top position is held by Onyx Coffee Lab.
