Tax DG Relieves Penalties Amid Coretax System Transition

3 hours ago 8

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) of the Finance Ministry has formally excused administrative penalties for late payments and deposits of outstanding taxes, as well as delays in submitting Tax Returns (SPT), during the transition to the Coretax system.

This policy, which waives administrative sanctions, is based on the Decision of the Taxes Director General No. 67/PJ/2025, dated February 27, 2025.

"Considering that in using the new system (Coretax DGT), taxpayers can experience delays in payment and/or deposit of overdue taxes and submission of tax returns," as quoted from the policy issued by Tax Director General Suryo Utomo, as reported on Friday, February 28, 2025.

Director of Taxation Information, Services, and Public Relations at DGT, Dwi Astuti, clarified that this decision grants taxpayers a waiver of administrative sanctions for late payments and/or deposits of taxes, as well as for late reporting or submission of Tax Returns.

Dwi further explained that the waiver of administrative sanctions is implemented by refraining from issuing tax collection letters (STP).

"If STP has been issued before this decision takes effect, the administrative sanctions will be cancelled automatically," she stated.
