TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Tempo and IDNFinancials are set to host the third Evening of Appreciation for Issuers, an annual event that honors companies listed in Index52 while fostering dialogue on the future of Indonesia’s capital market.
The event will be held at the Grand Ballroom of the Fairmont Hotel, South Jakarta, on Friday, September 19, 2025.
Index52 represents public companies that have consistently demonstrated strong governance, sustainable growth, and resilience in navigating global uncertainties. These issuers are recognized for delivering long-term value to shareholders and investors.
This year’s event will be paired with a high-level talk show titled “Navigating Global Challenges and Strengthening Cooperation with the Global South and BRICS.”
The theme reflects the mounting complexity of global issues such as climate change, economic volatility, and geopolitical tensions, which are increasingly shaping international trade and investment.
The urgency of such discussions has sharpened in recent weeks, following U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement of a new tariff policy that imposes a 19 percent duty on several Indonesian exports, while exempting U.S. goods from tariffs in return.
The move has been criticized for creating an imbalance in bilateral trade, with analysts warning of potential ripple effects on Indonesia’s economy.
Against this backdrop, Tempo and IDNFinancials say the forum aims to provide a platform for exploring how the Global South and the BRICS bloc (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) can bolster their bargaining power and build economic resilience amid shifting trade policies.
Confirmed speakers include Trade Minister Budi Santoso; the President’s Special Envoy for International Trade and Cooperation and Deputy Chair of the National Economic Council, Mari Elka Pangestu; and the ambassadors of Russia, India, China, and South Africa.
Other respondents will feature prominent business leaders such as Shinta W. Kamdani, Chair of the Indonesian Employers Association (Apindo) and Vice Chair of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), along with officials from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and representatives of listed companies.
Organizers say the event is designed not only to celebrate the achievements of Indonesia’s top-performing issuers but also to encourage fresh ideas and deeper international cooperation to address global economic challenges.
