Strawberries and cream have long been a beloved Wimbledon tradition
Strawberries and cream have long been a beloved Wimbledon tradition, enjoyed by fans and players alike throughout the tournament. Millions of servings are consumed each year, making it an iconic part of the Wimbledon experience.
On her victory, Swiatek added: 'I was just in the zone you know,' she told the BBC. 'I knew what I wanted to play and I knew I needed to be brave.
'You can't let Danielle play her winners, you know.
'Yeah [I am learning to love grass courts], honestly it is much more fun this year.
'I had some practices where the ball was listening to me which is pretty new on grass.
'I am just looking for that feeling during the match as well.
'For sure today was a good day, for sure it is giving me confidence and honestly, it is a new experience feeling good on grass.'
Swiatek’s best Wimbledon performance so far was reaching the quarter-finals in 2023, but after winning Roland-Garros four times since 2020, she had hoped to go further.
Swiatek will take on Denmark's Clara Tauson on Monday for a place in the quarter-finals.
