1. Bali Tightens Rules for Foreign Tourists

The Provincial Government of Bali has tightened regulations for foreign tourists visiting the island through Circular No. 7 of 2025, which outlines a revised code of conduct. Governor Wayan Koster said the circular specifies obligations, prohibitions, and potential sanctions for foreign visitors while staying in Bali.

Koster said that the new guidelines refine a similar circular issued in 2023, adjusted to reflect changes during his temporary absence from office.

Among the key rules, tourists are required to dress modestly, appropriately, and respectfully—especially when visiting sacred sites, tourist attractions, public spaces, or engaging in activities around Bali. Tourists are also expected to behave respectfully at temples, tourist destinations, restaurants, shopping areas, roadways, and other public areas.

2. Nintendo Delays U.S. Preorders for Switch 2 Over Tariff Concerns

On April 2, 2025, Nintendo introduced its latest console, the Switch 2. Not even 24 hours after the global announcement, the United States government announced a new tariff policy targeting products from Japan, China, and Vietnam, the three main countries in Nintendo's supply chain.

As a result, Nintendo decided to delay the Switch 2 pre-orders in the U.S., which was originally scheduled for April 9, 2025. "Pre-orders for Nintendo Switch 2 in the U.S. will not start April 9, 2025, in order to assess the potential impact of tariffs and evolving market conditions," Nintendo stated in Engadget as quoted from Antara last Saturday. However, the global launch schedule on June 5, 2025, remains unchanged.
