Chair of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) Puan Maharani in Indonesia met with Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang to strengthen parliamentary cooperation between the two countries. On the occasion, Puan and Li Qiang discussed current issues regarding the economic-political conditions at the regional and global levels.
Puan stated that the situation in Gaza, Palestine, was one of the topics they touched upon. "Including discussing how to lift the humanitarian blockade in Gaza," said Puan at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, on Sunday, May 11, 2025.
2. US Lawmaker Calls to 'Nuke' Gaza, Hamas: 'It's Genocide Incitement'
The Palestinian resistance group, Hamas, strongly condemns the statement made by US Congressman Randy Fine, who called for the nuking of Gaza.
The Palestinian resistance group asserts that Fine's statement is "incitement" to commit genocide against the Palestinian people.
"This extremist call constitutes a full-fledged crime and exposes the fascist racist mentality that governs the thinking of some American politicians," Hamas said in a statement on Friday, as quoted by Anadolu.
3. 2025 U-17 World Cup Draw: Indonesia in the Same Group as Brazil
The Indonesian Under-17 National Football Team, or Indonesian U-17 National Team, has officially been placed in Group H in the final round of the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup alongside Brazil, Honduras, and Zambia. This was the result of the draw announced by FIFA in the early hours of Monday, May 26, 2025.
The result poses a challenge for the Young Garudas, considering that they will face the four-time U-17 World Cup champions Brazil, who hold the second most titles after Nigeria (5).
