TEMPO.CO, JakartaAs a region that accounts for 60% of the most coal consumption, climate change is happening fast in Asia. Occasional heat waves, irregular temperature changes, and shorter rainy seasons are expected. Some of the hottest countries in Asia are even warming up faster than the rest of the world.

Hottest Countries in Asia

Trading Economics and Insider Monkey deemed oil producers countries like Qatar, UAE, and Bahrain as the hottest countries in Asia, with other warm nations included below:

1. Qatar - 29 celsius

The World Bank forecasts there will be a 5.5 per cent GDP jump later in 2026 on account of the surge in gas capacity, creating even bigger climate concerns in recent years. As July rolls in, Qatar reaches its hottest month, with the maximum temperature can go up to 43 celsius.

2. Uni Arab Emirates - 28.9 celsius

Much like Qatar, UAE relies heavily on its gas and oil production as manifested through the country’s GDP which stays at $96,845 USD per 2024. UAE’s vast adoption to the gas sector and its location contribute to the country’s high temperature of 40-43 celsius on their worst days.

3. Bahrain - 28.8 celsius

The third hottest country in Asia, Bahrain, has been showcasing hot temperatures that can raise up to 41 celsius, according to the World Bank. Its location sitting near the Persian Gulf makes Bahrain have similar average temperatures to the other oil nations.

4. Maldives - 28 celsius

Beneath its tropical paradise reputation, Maldives is actually among the hottest countries in Asia. The island nation experiences hot and dry weather throughout the year, with surface air temperatures averaging at 28 celsius.

5. Oman - 27.9 celsius

Having one of the world’s strongest currencies, Oman is deemed as a wealthy nation that plays a pivotal role in the global oil and gas industry. But, the country’s rise in sea levels and stress on water resources engulfs Oman in a hot temperature of 28 celsius on a daily basis.

6. Singapore - 27.7 celsius

Despite its rather small sizes, Singapore is generally humid. The maritime city-state has two distinct monsoon seasons which further aggravates the hot temperatures. While occasional rainy seasons occur, the SEA’s top economy also suffers from hot weather.

7. Kuwait - 27.52

As a deserted state, Kuwait’s temperatures stay high throughout the year. With a daily average reaching 27 celsius, the weather can be a little uncomfortable to those who aren’t accustomed to humid nations.

8. Cambodia - 27.25 celsius

Another booming travel destination, Cambodia is listed as one of the hottest countries in Asia for its extreme temperature. In June and July, the country sees their maximum temperatures to reach as high as 35 celsius daily.

9. Sri Lanka - 27.24 celsius

When it comes to the hottest Asian countries, Sri Lanka is included in the top ten contenders due to its mean surface air temperatures. While the average stays at 27.2 celsius, the temperatures can reach as high as 36 celsius during summertimes.

10. Thailand - 26.7 celsius

Rounding out the list is Thailand whose hot weather has a world-renowned reputation. Among its ancient ruins and ornate temples, locals and tourists alike can suffer from a hot temperature of 26 celsius on a daily basis.

In a world increasingly shaped by climate extremes, understanding the hottest countries in Asia underscores a deeper environmental urgency. These rising temperatures, driven by geography and industrial dependence on fossil fuels, don’t just challenge comfort, but they also threaten economies, ecosystems, and daily life.
