Tottenham are reportedly eyeing-up a transfer for Brentford star Yoane Wissa this summer.

Wissa, 28, has developed into a formidable Premier League striker since joining the Bees from Lorient for £8.5million in 2021.

Wissa, who has also won 33 caps for DR Congo, went to new levels last season following the departure of Ivan Toney, with the 28-year-old scoring 20 goals and adding five assists in all competitions.

Wissa's form has meant he has attracted interest from several clubs and in January, Brentford were forced to reject a £22m bid from Nottingham Forest for his services.

And, according to BBC Sport, Tottenham are now exploring a move for Wissa, with new Spurs boss Thomas Frank keen to be reunited with the forward.

The report claims that Brentford are aware of the interest and that Wissa, who they value at around £50m, is open to joining the north London side.

Brentford rate Wissa at around £50m but he may leave alongside Bryan Mbeumo this summer

However, the Bees are keen to keep the 28-year-old, who has become increasingly important given the upheaval they have faced this summer.

Alongside Frank joining Tottenham, keeper Mark Flekken moved to Bayer Leverkusen last month.

Brentford captain Christian Norgaard is also closing in on a £12m move to Arsenal, while Man United have had multiple bids rejected for Bryan Mbeumo, although the Cameroonian is expected to depart.

Elsewhere, Keith Andrews, who was previously Brentford's set piece coach, was appointed as Frank's replacement and he is set to undertake his first managerial role.

Five staff members have also moved to Tottenham alongside Frank.

Justin Cochrane, head of performance Chris Haslam and first team analyst Joe Newton joined with him initially before Nick Stubbings and Tom Perryman were added to the medical department this week.

Meanwhile, Wissa has a year left on his contract, although Brentford are able to trigger an option to extend that by a further 12 months.

Frank is hoping to strengthen in attacking areas and is closing in on signing Mohammed Kudus

Speaking towards the end of last season, Brentford's director of football Phil Giles insisted he was 'relaxed' about the situations surrounding Wissa and Mbeumo.

'I have a lot of insight but that doesn't mean I will talk about it!,' he said. 'No, in general, if I was looking at a striker or a wide player as another club then they have to be on a shortlist, you would imagine.

'But the number of clubs that can sign them is a small number worldwide so time will tell if a club has that need or requirement. At the moment, we are pretty relaxed.'

Alongside Wissa, Frank is keen to bring in further attacking reinforcements and Mail Sport reported on Wednesday how Spurs had agreed a £55m fee with West Ham for the signing of Mohammed Kudus.
