Trent Alexander–Arnold is set to undergo tests to determine the severity of an injury he suffered in training.
The Real Madrid right–back has been dealing with muscular pain in his right leg which he picked up on Tuesday before their clash with Paris Saint–Germain.
The injury kept him out the Club World Cup semi–final in New Jersey which saw the Spanish giants thrashed 4–0 by Luis Enrique's side.
He had played in all five of Madrid's Club World Cup previous matches after his move from Liverpool at the start of June.
Speaking before they were dumped out by PSG, Madrid boss Xabi Alonso said: ‘He felt something, a small discomfort but not good enough to play today.’
‘For sure it’s a blow. But we need to deal with that, it’s part of the job and hopefully we won’t miss him.
