TEMPO.CO, Solo - The ground inside a multipurpose building in Solo City suddenly collapsed on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, injuring two community health service cadres. The incident occurred at the Sasono Kridho building in Kampung Sumpingan, Kadipiro Village, Banjarsari District.
The two injured people, Iswatiningsih and Martini, were in the room when the ground collapsed. They are both cadres of Posyandu, or the Integrated Healthcare Center.
The head of Kadipiro, Arif Budiman, confirmed the ground collapse, stating that he was informed about the incident at around 9:30 a.m. local time. "Linmas (Community Protection) immediately came here and evacuated the two injured," he said when met at the Sasono Kridho multipurpose building.
The exact cause of the ground collapse inside the building is not yet known. At the time of the incident, a community-based Posyandu activity was taking place in the building. Iswatiningsih and Martini were in the kitchen to take a table along with glasses and plates when the ground collapsed.
"Perhaps it was too heavy. So it collapsed. At that time, the victims were also moving the table," said Arif.
Arif mentioned that the building, which is perched on the banks of Pepe River, already had a retaining wall. He also suspected that there might have been a leakage in the drainage system causing the ground to collapse. "Whether there was a leak eroding the soil near the drainage, we have no idea yet," he said.
The two victims suffered minor injuries to their legs. Arif explained that the two victims had been taken to the Fatmawati Bung Karno Hospital. "One of them could walk by themselves, and the other had to be carried," he said.
Regarding the damage caused by the ground collapse, Arif stated his side already informed related agencies to repair the structure. Meanwhile, the multipurpose building has been cleared and the location of the elderly Posyandu has been moved. "For now, we are clearing the area, and the Posyandu has been relocated to another neighborhood," he said.
