TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - WhatsApp officially launched the iPad version of the application, which is now available for download through the App Store. This marks the first time that iPad users can access WhatsApp in its native version, specifically designed for the Apple tablet device.
As quoted from 9to5Mac report, this move signifies a change in strategy from Meta, the parent company of WhatsApp, which has been known to be reluctant in releasing iPad versions for its social media applications. For instance, Instagram is not yet available in an iPad version even though it was rumored to be coming soon. WhatsApp becomes the first Meta application to officially support the iPad.
Although not explicitly mentioned in the release notes on the App Store, version 25.16.81 of the recently released WhatsApp apparently already includes support for the iPad. The application offers a two-column view, with the conversation list on the left and the chat content displayed on the right side of the screen.
With the introduction of this iPad version, users can enjoy a more optimized user experience on the larger screen. WhatsApp has also integrated multitasking features such as Split View, Slide Over, and Picture in Picture, allowing users to stay connected to conversations while simultaneously opening other applications on the iPad device.
