TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Whoosh high-speed train recorded a new record for the highest number of daily passengers on January 27, 2025. This number surpassed the previous record of July 5, 2024 with 24,132 tickets.

General Manager Corporate Secretary of PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia-China (PT KCIC) Eva Chairunisa explained that ticket sales throughout the day yesterday were 24,350. "The increase in the number of passengers not only shows the high enthusiasm of the public for Whoosh, but also encourages KCIC to improve services to users," she said in an official statement, Tuesday, January 28, 2025.

Tickets sold on January 27 consisted of 12,272 departures from Halim Station, 9,167 departures from Padalarang Station, 2,555 departures from Tegalluar Summarecon Station, and 356 departures from Karawang Station.

According to Eva, the long holiday moment was one of the main factors in the significant increase in the number of passengers. Overall, tickets sold during the period from 24 to 29 January 2025 reached 115,000 tickets.

Meanwhile, until this morning, January 28, 2025, 15,000 tickets have been sold. This number, she said, will continue to increase until the last departure tonight. Tickets for today and tomorrow are dominated by passengers from Bandung to Jakarta.

Eva appealed to all passengers to be present at the station no later than 30 minutes before the scheduled departure, to avoid rushing during the boarding process. For safety reasons, the gates at the station will be closed 5 minutes before the scheduled departure. For passengers from Bandung or Cimahi, it is advisable to take advantage of the KA Feeder service which is free for whoosh passengers and the schedule is integrated with Whoosh departures.

Seeing the high demand during the long holiday period, Eva said KCIC is ready to welcome the return flow. "We hope that Whoosh will remain the main choice for the public as a fast, safe and reliable mode of transportation," she said.
